History: the discovery of frozen yogurt

Frozen yogurt's new concept was first elaborated to be the "healthier, low calorie-low sugar alternative"

and here is a brief timeline about the history of frozen yogurt:   





Note that frozen yogurt was discovered before 5000 BC for yogurt preservation, and not for the concept of ice cream alternative. In fact, that's why many people do not date the beginning of frozen yogurt to that time, but instead say that it was discovered in the 1970's.

    Everything has its pros and cons, including frozen yogurt. but the thing is that frozen yogurt is more beneficial if we are capable of controlling our intake from it.

    the simplest and healthiest FRO-YO HOMEMADE recipes!

     RECIPE ONE:

    Ingredients:
    frozen yogurt photo


    • 2 L skimmed milk
    • 3/4 cup plain yogurt
    • 3/4 cup of powdered milk 







    Method:


    1. heat the skimmed milk to feel warm to fingers 
    2. turn off the heat. add in the yogurt and the powdered milk while whisking blend well
    3. cover and let stand at room temperature for about 12 hrs. it will have cooled and curdled 
    4. beat and pour into a container 
    5. store in the fridge 

    ADD the freshest chopped fruits and granola to it, and ENJOY!

    RECIPE TWO
    Another recipe i really find interesting and delicious is "raspberry chocolate frozen yogurt pop"

      • Makes: 10 pops
      • Active time: 15 mins
      • Total time: about 6 hours and 15 minutes
      ingredients: 
      • 2 cups of fresh or frozen raspberries
      • 2 cups of nonfat or low-fat plain yogurt
      • 3-5 tablespoons of sugar
      • 1/2 cup of mini chocolate chips
      Preparation: 

      1. puree the raspberries, yogurt, and sugar until smooth
      2. divide the mixture equally among freezer-pop molds
      3. divide the chocolate chips evenly between the molds 
      4. stir the mixture with the chips in the molds
      5. insert the sticks and freeze for 6 hours 
      6. after freezing, dip the molds in hot water before taking the sticks out
